How was everyone’s holiday?
The past couple of weeks have been a bit of whirlwind. On top of getting ready for T-day, Kat had a fever and ended up on antibiotics, the fever showed up the very day after her well-child check, go figure. So now all of us have been sick in some shape or form. But I hear that the same crap we’ve been fighting has been going around our town for weeks. But after the third type of antibiotic Kat is finally on the mend, now if Billy could kick it.
Friday I got to go pick up Joey for our dinner Saturday and had lots of stuff to get done so we could roll out as soon as the last thing came out of the oven. We took Green Bean Casserole(which I’ve never made before), Blueberry Crisp (using this recipe as my base), Cranberry Brie Bombs, and Billy’s Pumpkin Cheesecake (adapted from this recipe).
There was also the usual stuff to eat and snack trays to keep the kids from getting hangry. Billy stayed home with his yuckiness and try to get some much needed, kid-free rest. Of course, my awesome sister made him a big plate for me to bring home and some pie, yum! Other than Kat being scared to leave my side for the first few hours we had a good time. She ran around the new house and tried to play with the Christmas tree (sorry guys!) she also got to see lots of people she hasn’t seen in a while and get reacquainted, plus meet some of her other cousins.
Here is this weeks menu:
Today: Leftovers, again. Or some fruit, cheese, and popcorn
Thursday: a Sausage Cabbage dish, it’s a regular around here
Friday: Crispy honey chicken
Saturday: Million $ Spaghetti
Sunday: King ranch Chicken Mac. We were supposed to have this and it didn’t happen
Tuesday: Tacos. Just plain old fashioned tacos, I’ve been trying to keep us from having the same thing over and over again but we haven’t had these in a while.
