What’s up Wednesday and Meal Plan

This week’s weather has been kinda perfect but hot. Beautiful sunny days and cool nights. The plants and Kathleen love it, she is constantly wanting to play outside these days and we don’t blame her.

We love the pool we got for our birthday!

We also trellised most of the garden but I ran out of supports so the beans and zucchini well have to wait till tomorrow. I also saw the beginnings of some flowers on my zucchini which has me super excited about some home canned relish and home-baked zucchini bread and muffins, etc.

Note to self: place tomato cages before planting for better spacing.

I goofed and thought I had more mayonnaise somewhere in my pantry and I was wrong. So I got to learn how to make mayonnaise with eggs from my hens. It tasted pretty good and was super easy to make. I would share the link but I can’t find it because I didn’t save it on Pinterest. We’ll probably still buy some to keep on hand but I may just keep making my own for now.

Little man is trying to crawl, cue crying because they need to stop growing! He has come so far and I’m so proud of Kyler and his momma. He has so many rolls you can’t even tell that his body tried to starve itself in the beginning.

My little blog buddy.

We also had to replant most of our carrots thanks to Bugs Bunny. And since I got distracted by a certain toddler making a run for it I ended up planting just carrots and forgot to plant my beets. So beets will be on the list of veggies I grow in the hoop tunnel that Billy’s gonna make for one of the beds.

I know I haven’t mentioned the hermit crabs in a while but I finally got a good picture of my biggest crab Monday night. We’ve been calling the crab Sebastian (we don’t know the genders of them), when I picked them up ‘he’ was on the hygrometer in the tank which by the way was up at the top of the tank. They get fed in the evenings since they’re nocturnal. One of my projects is to set up the heat lamp for during the day, they need a set day/night schedule so I’ll have to set up an alarm for turning it on and off. This also might help Kat get on a schedule since I’ll have to go in her room and turn on a relatively bright warm light. Early wake-up time means early bedtime.

Sebastian looking for some food.

Here is this week’s menu:

Today: Leftovers

Thursday: TBD it’s shopping day so we’ll probably pick something up.

Friday: Farmer’s Casserole. We lost the cord to my instapot so we had to get my old slow cooker out of storage, at least nothing we need for this recipe is perishable.

Saturday: Brats on the grill, probably make some pasta salad and a veggie to go with it.

Sunday: Sweet and Sour Pork Skewers with Pineapple probably serve with some rice.

Monday: Another salad, might try to make my own dressing this time.

Tuesday: Homemade taco hamburger helper.
