So I regrettably was so busy that I didn’t get a chance to even start last week’s post.
I have been overrun with making pickles and I still have so many cucumbers that I’m planning giving a few away to some neighbors. Kat is getting scary smart, as in finding new ways to hurt herself and how to climb on things she never climbed before. And I’ve started babysitting Kyler again.
So my days are kind of shot now except a couple of days a week. I posted the canning basics so that everyone can have what they need for canning pickles and such. Obviously for certain recipes, you need certain equipment. But now that it’s been up long enough for people to peruse I plan to post the bread and butter tutorial on Thursday.
The garden is hopping, I’ve finally gotten my first blueberry after waiting for like 4 years. And my big tomatoes are finally ripening! The zucchinis are done and I’m gonna plant my fall garden this weekend. And as I mentioned in my Instagram video I bought a greenhouse for it.
We’re gonna plant Brussel sprouts, a plethora of greens, and now that the rabbit can’t murder my garden I’m going to try carrots and beets again. Of course, now that I’ve made plans something will cause me problems again, that’s newton’s law.
I have so many pickles that I’ve started blessing others with them. A co-worker of Billy’s gave us some coffee from her monthly subscription box and I’m giving her pickles in return. And a boss of mine asked for some dill relish so I actually made some specifically for her and she’s getting dill pickle slices as well. I just have so many cucumbers I can’t let them go to waste.
And to top off my anxiety, the chickens have already started molting! So far it’s only Marshmallow but the others will follow suit soon. Store-bought eggs after having eggs from your own backyard are just gross!
